The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
Joshua has gotten the farthest in the book so far, so today we are just discussing our thoughts on the characters.
Doon-We all agree that Doon is curious, high-tempered, mad and awkward. He likes animals and wants to help his community. We think he will somehow figure out a plan to better Ember.
Lina-She is adventurous, curious and loves exploring the city. She takes good care of her baby sister, Poppy, and her grandmother.
Mayor-Christopher calls the mayor a 'bull dog' because he's kind of creepy. Joshua adds that he's gross and disloyal to the city.
It's interesting that everyone is basically hoarders. Their homes seem dirty and dumpy.
We all agree that living in Ember would make us feel trapped.
